Chamaedorea elegans or Parlour palm is slender-stemmed palm with a terminal tuft of pinnate, rich green leaves, to 60cm long, comprising 21-40 linear to lance-shaped leaflets. Tiny yellow flowers are borne in erect, simple or branched panicles, 15-30cm long, from spring to autumn, followed by small, spherical black fruit. Height 2-3m, Spread 1-2m. Native of Mexico, Guatemala.The Chamadorea plant has the appearance of a dwarf palm, it is an ornamental green indoor plant that stands out for its thin stems from which the fronds expand like those of palm trees. Appreciated precisely for its rich and thick foliage.
